Director of Accounting
Ensuring effective internal controls over financial reporting in as validated via internal audit engagements.
Hands-on approach to managing the accounting function as part of ensuring that day-to-day processes are adequately addressed
Key interaction with shared service group in Hawthorne, NY that will be performing AR, Gross to Net and government reporting.
Overall general management of accounts receivable function and ensuring customer deductions are kept to a minimum and days of sales outstanding is within acceptable norms.
Overall management of customer credit
Automation of routine activities to manage departmental goals and objectives
Focus on documentation of accounting activities, preparation of manuals, and standard operating procedures
Continuously work on improving processes in the accounting function to compress closing of accounts to meet the corporate timelines
Lead for the US corporate initiated projects on key objectives.
10% Travel to Hawthorne, NY location

USGAAP / IGAAP / IFRS Financial Statements (consolidated, standalone)
Month End/Quarter End/Year End Trial Balance (consolidated, standalone)
Revaluation of Customer Credit (limit, term)
Decisions made in consultation with superiors/others:
Commitment to audit deficiencies and remediation strategies if an alteration to a cross functional process(es) (i.e., SOP) is/are required
Commitment to ship customer orders based upon current business conditions and/or material drivers impacting a customer’s credit.
Decisions delegated to a higher level :
Commitment to material impacts on financial statements (e.g., change in accounting/business practice, contractual obligations/covenants, capex)
Commitment to audit deficiencies and remediation strategies if a material alteration to cross functional/functional process(es) (i.e., SOP) is/are required.
10+ years of experience in accounting/finance
In-depth knowledge of GAAP/IGAAP/IFRS
Knowledge and experience with SAP financial systems.
Professional written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities
Strong ability to navigate ambiguity arriving at sound business conclusions
Strong business acumen.
Bachelor of Science in Accounting, CPA
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel) and other applications as applicable, plus the ability to learn company used applications as required.
