Title: Litigation Paralegal
This position is responsible for providing sophisticated legal assistance with respect to a variety of disputes, including litigations, arbitrations, consumer complaints, and government investigations. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between the legal department, outside counsel, and internal company departments to facilitate the company’s defense and prosecution of a variety of matters. Projects will include retrieving and organizing discovery related documents and case files; conducting fact investigations; managing e-discovery collections and document retentions; drafting responses for claims and proceedings; assisting in the preparation for witness interviews, hearings, trials, and other proceedings; and organizing and maintaining case materials. Other job duties will include managing the legal hold process and assisting with litigation reporting. The successful candidate will also provide occasional day-to-day administrative support to the Head of Litigation and General Counsel.
Manage discovery process, including conducting investigations into the existence of records relevant to litigations and investigations and compiling, reviewing, and producing such records.
Conducting fact investigations with respect to a variety of litigation and pre-litigation matters.
Prepare chronologies and document sets for use in connection with pre-litigation and litigation matters.
Develop and implement a file retention system for pleadings and other key litigation documents.
Send legal hold notices and provide day-to-day supervision of document hold program.
Assist with litigation reporting.
Special projects as assigned, particularly with respect to vendor management initiatives.
General administrative support such as scheduling, travel, expenses, copies, etc. for the Head of Litigation and General Counsel.
Minimum 4 years of experience as a litigation paralegal preferrably within a major law firm or corporate environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have excellent computer skills, prioritization and attention to detail.
Must be able to work under pressure and work in a team environment requiring collaboration and communication.
